A new season means exciting movies are about to be released. With summer blockbuster time just around the corner, there are all kinds of interesting films to check out.

Mickey 17
March 7 (Theaters)

The Premise: A disposable employee is sent on a human expedition to colonize the ice world Niflheim. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact.
Parasite director Bong Joon-ho is back with a new sci-fi comedy thriller, with Robert Pattinson starring as the titular Mickey. The trailers look promising, and we’re eager to see if it’s as good as it seems.
Black Bag
March 14 (Theaters)

The Premise: When his beloved wife, Kathryn, is suspected of betraying the nation, intelligence agent George Woodhouse faces the ultimate test — loyalty to his marriage or his country.
The lead couple in this movie are played by veteran actors Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender. With romance, spies, and a high likelihood of plot twists, it’s sure to be a hit.
Electric State
March 14 (Netflix)

The Premise: An orphaned teen hits the road with a mysterious robot to find her long-lost brother, teaming up with a smuggler and his wisecracking sidekick.
Netflix is tapping into the 90s nostalgia with this robot-filled action movie starring Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown. While fans of the graphic novel are disappointed with the trailers, we’re eager to see the finished product.
Death of a Unicorn
March 28 (Theaters)

The Premise: When a man and his daughter accidentally hit and kill a unicorn with their car, his boss tries to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties– with horrific results.
A24 delivers another unique film with this killer unicorn thriller. It stars Jenny Ortega, everyone’s favorite spooky girl, alongside Paul Rudd and Will Poulter, in this dark yet funny story.
The Life List
March 28 (Netflix)

The Premise: A woman revisits her childhood aspirations, endeavoring to achieve her old goals, only to discover that pursuing these lifelong dreams takes her on an unforeseen and surprising journey.
Sofia Carson has been on a roll with Netflix lately, starring in hit films like Carry-On and Purple Hearts. This one looks like another promising role for her and one you’ll want to bring tissues for.
A Working Man
March 28 (Theaters)

The Premise: Levon Cade left behind a decorated military career in the black ops to live a simple life of working construction. However, when human traffickers kidnap his boss’s daughter, his search to bring her home uncovers a world of corruption far greater than he ever could have imagined.
Jason Statham is back with another gritty thriller filled with lots of gory fight scenes. It’s nothing original, but it looks like a great movie to enjoy with friends.

A Minecraft Movie
April 4 (Theaters)

The Premise: A mysterious portal pulls four misfits into the Overworld, a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll have to master the terrain while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected crafter named Steve.
How do you adapt a video game with no storyline for the big screen? By making it a portal fantasy adventure, it seems. Reactions online have been mixed, but it’s a great option for the family to see.
Freaky Tales
April 4 (Theaters)

The Premise: An NBA star, a corrupt cop, a female rap duo, teenage punks, neo-Nazis, and a debt collector embark on a collision course in 1987 Oakland, Calif.
With a star-studded cast and a unique premise, this is definitely one you’ll want to see in theaters. The four interconnected storylines and fun 80s setting are sure to make this a fun, if gory, watch.
The Amateur
April 11 (Theaters)

The Premise: Charlie Heller is a brilliant CIA decoder whose world comes crashing down when his wife dies in a London terrorist attack. When his supervisors refuse to take action, his intelligence becomes the ultimate weapon as he embarks on a dangerous trek across the globe to track down those responsible.
Part underdog story, part spy thriller, this one looks to be quite the ride. It stars Rami Malek as the main character, with skills similar to his iconic character in Mr. Robot.
Havoc
April 25 (Netflix)

The Premise: After a drug deal gone wrong, a bruised detective must fight his way through the criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son, unraveling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city.
Tom Hardy stars in this gritty action thriller from the director of The Raid. While we’ve only seen a teaser so far, it already looks promising. If you have a Netflix subscription, there’s no reason not to check it out when it releases.
The Legend of Ochi
April 25 (Theaters)

The Premise: A young girl learns to never go outside after dark because of reclusive forest creatures known as the ochi. However, when a baby ochi is left behind by its pack, she embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to reunite it with its family.
This A24 film, with an adorable ochi, is sure to be a hit with kids and adults alike. If you like the quirkiness of Wes Anderson films, you’ll probably enjoy this one, too.

Thunderbolts*
May 2 (Theaters)

The Premise: After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap, an unconventional team of antiheroes must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts.
Marvel’s latest team-up movie features many of their more unconventional heroes from previous films. Will this be the movie that finally lands Marvel another win? Only time will tell.
Lilo and Stitch
May 23 (Theaters)

The Premise: Live-action remake of Disney’s animated classic ‘Lilo and Stitch’.
The latest Disney movie to get the live-action treatment is Lilo and Stitch. The first trailer was released last week, and while it looks pretty faithful to the original, we’ll have to wait and see what the finished product is like.
Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning
May 23 (Theaters)

The Premise: Our lives are the sum of our choices. Tom Cruise is Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible- The Final Reckoning.
While details of the eighth Mission Impossible movie plot are sparse, trailers promise the classic blend of spies and impressive stunts. Will Ethan Hunt once again be able to save the world? And what will he have to sacrifice to do it?
Karate Kid: Legends
May 30 (Theaters)

The Premise: After moving to New York City with his mother, kung fu prodigy Li Fong struggles to let go of the past as he tries to fit in with his new classmates. When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition– but his skills alone aren’t enough. With help from Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso, he soon learns to merge two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown.
Two generations of Karate Kids come together to make this epic crossover movie. It’s something no one saw coming, so we look forward to seeing the final result.
