As summer comes to a close, it’s time to move into the fall movie season. Theaters are gearing up to release big holiday blockbusters, luring people in as the days get colder.

There are a lot of great movies to look forward to this fall. Some of the past decade’s biggest hits have sequels coming out, including Wicked, Zootopia, and Downton Abbey. But there’s also an influx of original films, such as Good Fortune and Rental Family. And for the bibliophiles, you can enjoy adaptations of The Woman in Cabin 10, Hamnet, and Regretting You.

The director, Francis Lawrence, has a strong track record, including Catching Fire and I Am Legend, so hopes are high for a good adaptation.

While the premise of this movie sounds insane, it’s actually based on a real story about an escaped convict. It looks like a fun action comedy film, especially with Channing Tatum in the lead.

This movie is based on a novel by the same name and promises to be an edge-of-your-seat thriller. Since it’s coming straight to Netflix, you can watch all the twists and turns from the comfort of your own home.

A body swap comedy and Kenue Reeves as a budget guardian angel, directed by Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari? This movie could not get better. It’s so refreshing to see an original comedy film, and we can’t wait to watch it.

What’s It About? In 1970, Mooney and two cohorts wander into a museum in broad daylight and steal four paintings. When holding onto the art proves more difficult than stealing them, Mooney is relegated to a life on the run.

This crime thriller looks like a fun ride with cool 1970s-style cinematography. Josh O’Connor leads the cast, which may or may not be a big draw of the film.

What’s It About? When a devastating accident reveals a shocking betrayal, Morgan Grant and her daughter, Clara, explore what’s left behind as they confront family secrets, redefine love, and rediscover each other.

While It Ends With Us got embroiled in drama, that hasn’t stopped another Colleen Hoover book from coming to the big screen. Regretting You stars actors Dave Franco, McKenna Grace, and Allison Williams in this romantic drama film that’s sure to be popular.

Zootopia was one of Disney’s biggest hits in the last few years, so of course, it’s getting a sequel. With the majority of the cast and creative team coming back, we hope it won’t be another Disney flop.
