Every summer, the biggest movies of the year get released. Studios put out their best offerings, hoping to entice moviegoers to escape the heat in a cool, dark theater seat.

This year is no exception, with a little something for everyone to watch. For comic book fans, you can look forward to Superman or Fantastic Four. Kids can enjoy The Bad Guys 2 or Smurfs. And for the action flick fans, there’s Ballerina or Americana.

Together, they must navigate the delicate path toward peace, soaring beyond the boundaries of their worlds and redefining what it means to be a hero and a leader.

Dreamworks is venturing into the world of live-action remakes with this take on their 2010 animated film. So far, it seems to be identical to the original, so we’re interested to see the audience’s reception.

What’s It About? A young man returns to an old Montana town to reclaim his legacy. He’s caught between a law-abiding sheriff and a destructive stranger as old secrets lead to violence.

While this movie premiered at film festivals last year, it’s finally getting a US theatrical release this summer. This original Western stars Samuel L. Jackson and Pierce Brosnan as the leads, so we’re excited to see it.

It’s nice to see an original movie from Pixar again. This intergalactic adventure looks like a fun time, with lots of colorful aliens and spaceships. The real question is, will Pixar continue their streak of kids’ films that leave adults in tears?

The Jurassic Park franchise isn’t going away anytime soon. This new film stars Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey on a new mission against new big, bad dinosaurs. Will it be good? That remains to be seen.

Every few years, we get a new Smurfs movie, whether or not anyone actually wants it. The biggest draw of the film so far is Rihanna voicing Smurfette, which is an interesting choice.

This movie is a reimaging of the 1989 movie War of the Roses, which in turn is based on a book of the same name. This dramedy stars veteran actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman, and we’re anticipating great performances from both.
