The approach of a new year means the rise of new trends. Which means it’s time to make our predictions on what fads you’ll see in the fashion and beauty spaces in 2026.
Will color finally come back? Will people prefer baggy or skinny jeans? What kind of eyeliner should you go for?
Many of these are easy to predict and track as they gain traction on the internet. But there will always be the trends that come out of nowhere and surprise us, like Brat Summer in 2024.
In this post, you’ll find our predictions for the 2026 fashion and beauty trends. Will any of them turn out to be right? Only time will tell.
2026 Fashion Trends
Brooches
Fashion has been obsessed with trinkets such as bag charms for the last few years. In 2026, that will shift to wearable trinkets like brooches, as people give more personality to generic clothes.
Lace
According to Pinterest Predicts, searches for lace have been on the rise. You can expect to see more lace skirts, shawls, tights, and even nail art in the coming year. Similar textured clothing, like fillet crochet, will probably also feature heavily.
Piratecore
Think flowy blouses, big belts, military jackets, and even the occasional weird hat. Fashion is shifting away from the buttoned-up, polished “clean girl” and “quiet luxury” aesthetics toward grungier looks, which is perfect for piratecore.
Bubble Skirts
If you hated this trend in the 2010s, we’re sorry, but it’s coming back. Bubble skirts are everywhere, from the runways to fast fashion sites. Alongside the traditional mini skirt version, you can also expect to see longer, more voluminous styles.
Power Suits
The 80s nostalgia is still going strong. This year, it’s taking the form of the power suit. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a suit, but wide, structured shoulders and defined waists are going to be everywhere.
Capes
The combination of several trends, such as 80s nostalgia and whimsical fashion, means capes are on the rise. They’re a stylish alternative to coats that help even a simple outfit become eye-catching.
Off-White
With Pantone’s color of the year being Cloud Dancer, a faded gray/white color, you can expect to see it popping up everywhere. If you love a good neutral shade, this is the year for you.
Brassiers
Underwear as fashion has gone in and out of style for most of history. This year, styling bras will be all the rage. Think matching bra and skirt sets, or wearing a blazer over a stylish bra.
60s Styling
The 1960s are slowly creeping back into fashion, and we think this will be the year they take off. There are already several other 60s-inspired trends on the rise, such as aprons, space age fashion, and capes.
Primary Colors
While Cloud Dancer might be the color of the year, people are getting tired of neutrals all the time. In 2026, expect to see more color showing up, especially bright, primary colors.
Retro Sneakers
Over the last few years, flatter sneakers like you might see in the 70s or 90s have replaced the chunky look. We can expect that trend to continue in 2026.
Deer Print
There’s always a trending animal print, and currently, it’s deer. It’s unusual, but it’s been everywhere this winter. We’ll be interested to see how the trend adapts as spring and summer arrive.
Consumer Awareness
Another shift we’ve started seeing in fashion is consumers being more conscious about where their clothes come from, what they’re made of, and their quality. You can expect to see people continue to move away from ultra-fast fashion and toward more sustainable, well-made pieces.

2026 Beauty Trends
Bobs
Bobs were one of our trend predictions last year, and they appear to be just as popular for 2026. Whether you prefer a sharp, asymmetrical cut or something big and fluffy, bobs are here to stay.
Skinimalism
Last year, people started shifting toward more minimal skincare routines with fewer steps. This year, that will evolve further into skinimalism, which uses a few, ultra-targeted products to create healthy, beautiful skin.
Colorful Lashes
As people move toward color again, you can expect colored mascara to be back en vogue. Metallics and sparkles will probably also become popular.
Satin Skin
Matte and dewey skin have both been popular in the last ten years. In 2026, the look will shift to satin skin, which gives your face a gentle, healthy glow without looking wet.
Eccentric Makeup
Another Pinterest Predicts trend is mismatched makeup. Think skittle nails, different colored eyeliner, and avant-garde eyeshadow looks that are more like works of art than makeup.
Statement Lipstick
Bold lipsticks, often matte rather than glossy, are coming back in trend. We’re not only seeing bright shades, but also unique application techniques that stand out.
Messy Hair
The “clean girl” look is over, replaced by something more casual and authentic. People are moving away from slick back buns to messy, “just throw it up” styles.
Smoky Eye
A 2010s makeup trend that’s starting to come back is the smoky eye. Like with messy hair, it’s another move away from the clean girl aesthetic and into a raw and unfiltered look.
Clean Beauty
The “clean girl” aesthetic might be dead, but clean beauty is coming to life. People are looking for more natural skincare and beauty products, wanting to be conscious about what they put on their bodies as well as in them.
K-Beauty
Korean beauty has taken over the internet, and will only get bigger in 2026. Everyone wants to look like their favorite K-pop star or Korean influencer.
